The Islamic Azad University has many vice presidencies, all of which are responsible for the improvement of facilities and services. After the Council, vice presidents are the major administrative structures of the Islamic Azad University .

Supreme Council
This Council is the most important and the most powerful Council in the Islamic Azad University. The Supreme Council is responsible for the appointment of the Islamic Azad University president and approves the University budget. The Supreme Council is responsible for the University's major policies. The development of the Islamic Azad University campuses is under direct supervision of this Council. This is also true about other related institutions. Decision-making and implemention of academic affairs and policies is another duty of the Supreme Council.
The Council is also responsible for inter-university academic and cultural exchange. It is also in charge of lecturer, professor, and student exchange programme at the national and international levels.
Central Council
This Council comprises of the Islamic Azad University president, vice- presidents, advisors, and deans of various faculties. The aim and duty of the Central Council is to review and make major decisions on educational, and research matters. Furthermore, it discusses and makes suggestions on annual budgets, reviews the problems of regulations, and also decides on tuition fees.
Planning Council
The Planning Council, which includes the University president, his advisors, and the vice-presidents is responsible for major educational, and research policies, academic facilities, and any academic problem which may arise. Additionally this Council takes the responsibility for co-operation with other universities, approves student and lecturer exchange projects, and academic cultural information exchange programmes, at national and international levels.
Educational Council
The duty of this Council is to carry-out educational affairs' policies. The educational Council is in charge of educational programs. It submits approved issues to the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, and the University's Planning Council. This Council monitors students' progress.
Research Council
The Research Council makes decisions on administrative policies of academic research, modifies research regulations and rules of procedures, makes decisions on research funding and proposed issues on behalf of the president.

Vice Presidency of International Affairs
The International Affairs' Vice-President offers essential information to the international students, intending to study in the Islamic Azad University.
Vice Presidency of the Students' Affairs
This Vice Presidency is one of the most active departments in the Islamic Azad University's administrative system. It leads, supervises, and assesses the performance and output of its various subdivisions, such as:
1-Students’ Affairs Office.
2-Management of Students’ welfare and facilities.
3-Alumni Office.
Supervision and management of extra-curricular activities, physical education, and services offered on the basis of students are also among the major activities carried out by this Vice Presidency.
A. Student Affairs' Office. The Students' Affairs’ Office operates in each campus of the Islamic Azad University. It is under direct supervision of the Vice-Presidency for Students' Affairs. This Office is responsible for providing the students with all necessary information and facilities, etc.
B. Students' Facilities and Welfare.This section also operates under the direction of the Vice President of Students' Affairs. It is in charge of provisions and implementation of the University's programs related to welfare services. Giving various assistance to students, and providing facilities for their welfare.
C. Alumni Office. This office carries-out, 1- Issuing temporary certificates of graduation. 2- Providing final transcripts, and examination results. 3-Cerifying and awarding degrees.
Vice Presidency of Research more
The Vice Presidency of Research is responsible for decisions on research policies, and issues, throughout the Islamic Azad University campus. It makes sure that campuses of the Islamic Azad University work in the frame-work of general policies adopted by the University's Central Organization,such as rules, and procedures governing academic, and scientific research conduct.
The Vice President of Research has a wide range of administrative functions. They are as follows:
A. Promoting research in collaboration with faculties and departments.
B. Regulating research through the maintenance of standards of review processes.
C. Management of research activities ensuring that all research activities, undertaken at the University, are within the frame work of the rules and regulations.
D. Promoting e-technology transfer.
E. Strengthening the ties with industry.
This Vice Presidency directs eight major bodies at the Islamic Azad University.
Presidency of the Academic Affairs more
This Vice Presidency, which works closely with the President of the Islamic Azad University, is responsible for the followings:
1-Giving a general, and overall academic direction to the University.
2-Reviewing and giving recommendations to the Islamic Azad University concerning admission of students.
3-Formulating the University's educational policies, and ensuring their implementations.
4-Carrying out all activities related to educational planning, in conjunction with the related sections and units.
5-Offering educational rules of procedures, in cooperation with the authorities involved, and supervising their implementation.
6-Assessing and evaluating educational programmes and their implementation.
7-Examining and studying educational programmes, and curricula used by other national and international universities so that the students of the Islamic Azad University are kept informed of other universities progress in various academic fields.
8-Undertaking essential measures to increase the quality and quantity of educational facilities.
