** The IAU Director General for International Affairs: Islamic Azad University branch in Oman entered the operational phase
Dr. Hossein Ebrahimi the IAU Director General for International Affairs informed about inaugurating the Islamic Azad University branch in Oman.
Dr.Hossein Ebrahimi said, ”According to the ratification of the Islamic Azad University board of trustees regarding establishment of the IAU branch in Oman, after making arrangements in previous months, ultimately with the presence of Hujjat al-Islam Mohammadreza Nouri Shahroudi, the IAU president consultant, responsible for communication with the Islamic and Arabic countries, and Dr.Javad Mansouri the official responsible for Oman branch, the IAU branch in Oman was officially inaugurated and launched its activities.
Ebrahimi stated, “The preliminary works and the initial registration of the Oman branch including holding sessions with the ministry of higher education and the ministry of education of Oman have been held, and the main activities of Oman Branch includes IAU schools, university branches, dental branch, and establishment of knowledge-based companies in order to create educational opportunities.”
The President of the Islamic Azad University announced that the IAU Oman branch has been inaugurated recently.
Dr. Mirzadeh the president of the IAU announced that up to know, 8 branches and offices of the Islamic Azad University have been activated in the International Network of this University.
He said,” the university has international offices in Russia, Italy, Germany, UAE, Kabul in Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Oxford in UK, and all of these branches and offices are the members of the IAU international network.”
Mirzadeh also said that 2 new European offices of the IAU will be added to the IAU international network.
He said,” the goal of establishing the IAU international network is to provide the opportunity for Persian abroad resident students to continue their studies at the master’s and Ph.D. levels of the IAU.”
Mirzadeh pointed to the fine relations between the countries and added the readiness of IAU to cooperate with Russian side in international academic and research fields.
He also mentioned to the agreement with the University of Synergy Russia and said: “Via this collaboration, the students from Synergy could virtually pursue their studies in Iran at IAU-Electronic Branch.”
The president of IAU expressed the University’s interest for further collaborative actions with Russian Congress Organization with in the beneficial framework of I. R. of Iran. He remined the recent spectacular successes of IAU in Germany RoboCup World Championship and said: "We can have cooperation with leading universities of Russia in the field of robotics."
Research and Academic Cooperation Panel with Islamic Azad University to be Held in Iran & Russia's Relations Economic Conference
The vice-president of the Russian Congress Organization expressed the organization’s mission to conduct a joint conference with the purpose of expanding mutual cooperation between the two countries. As proposed by the organization and approved by the IAU president, there will be an exclusive scientific and research collaboration panel for investigating further joint actions between IAU and Russian Universities.
Dr. Ebrahmi mentioned in this interview: The IAU International Branches consist of two groups that are supervised by both international office the free zones directorate of the country such as Kish, Qeshm, Bandar Anzali, Julfa and Ayatollah Amoli. Other branches are overseas such as Afghanistan, Lebanon, UAE, Moscow and Oxford.
Islamic Azad University Cooperation Desks:
Since the beginning of year 1395, International Office with collaboration of Central Tehran, UAE and E-Campus Branches, set up three cooperation desks in Germany, Italy and Russia.
Faculty’s Assistance with Overseas Branches:
The IAU benefits from the faculties who were sent to the overseas branches from Iran and in order to have the same benefit from the foreign masters, the IAU international Office has settled data based by which the interested faculties including Iranians and Non-Iranians could register and declare their readiness. The IAU welcomes the prominent professors to teach at the IAU branches.
Programs of Study in International and Overseas Branches:
The programs are proposed by the branches located the free zones and abroad according to their needs and request.
Through the IAU –cooperation desks, the main focus is on Electronic Learning provided by both the foreign desk and IAU E-Campus. Other programs which require attendance will be run mutually as it is the case for Central Tehran and Italy branches in Architecture.
Methods of Study
Both countries rules and regulations should be considered within the educational framework of the international and overseas branches and desks. For theses and dissertations we have considered two advisors, one from Iran and the other from the overseas branch or desks that are attending the defense sessions. For the Ph.D. students we have provided the sabbatical leaves to spend at IAU desks located countries.
The appointment of IAU desks and branches in foreign countries follow the same process as the interior ones.
No Limitations for Iranians to study at IAU Overseas Branches and Desks:
According to Dr. Ebrahimi there are no limitations for the Iranians and non-Iranians to study at any foreign branches or desks of the IAU. All the applicants should participate in the acceptance exam and in case of success and no legal barriers they can pursue their studies.
According to this authority, the IAU is now planning to benefit more from the Iranian Masters living abroad to teach at the IAU. The International Office is also aimed to further expand the international university’s network in collaboration with IAU E-Campus. The office has provided the electronic registration, available at www.intl.iau.ir for all the applicants.
** Dr. Ebrahimi at Islamic Azad University-IAU Birjand Branch: Preparation for Iranians abroad to Pursue Studying via IAU Electronic Branch
Within a session hold for investigating IAU-Birjand branch’s international affairs and international students’ admission, Director General for International Affairs mentioned to the announcement of the IAU 5-year international document in near future and mentioned to the readiness of IAU Electronic Branch to admit Iranians living abroad for further academic studies.
The IAU International Affairs Director, pointed to the University’s efforts to attract non-Iranian Persian speaking students to study at IAU and the establishment of IAU’s Offices and International Network in Italy, Germany Russia, England, UAE, and Afghanistan.
The IAU’s Secretary of the Board of Trustees and President of the Islamic Azad University of South Khorasan also appreciated the follow-up activities conducted by International Affairs Office and the Representatives Office of MFA in the province, to enable South Khorasan to peruse the University’s intentional objectives. He added, “The settlement of IAU International Network provides the grounds for global excellence.”
Special Electronic Portal for non-Iranian Students’ Registration
Mr. Soroush Razmi, Director for non-Iranian Students Bureau at IAU International Affairs Office announced the uploading of the Special Electronic Portal for non-Iranian Students’ Registration and said that, the system is welcomed by the foreigners and we will face the expansion and excellence of IAU-International Network in near future.
The MFA representative in the South Khorasan Province also appreciated the IAU’s efforts to provide the grounds for admitting non-Iranian students and emphasized the MFA cooperation in the field.
