Following the visit paid by Dr. Jassbi, the President of the Islamic Azad University (IAU) ,to Zanzibar, as well as his meeting with the president of this country, the ground was properly paved for setting up the IAU’s another new international branch in Zanzibar of Africa. This branch officially launched its activities in 1999.

The aim of the IAU is to improve the higher education in Zanzibar as well as training specialized manpower needed in different fields. Accordingly, the IAU offers many courses in this branch, ratified by the I.R.Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
